Innovation is one of our key values and an essential direction of the Enel Global Group that our electricity distribution companies belong to. We believe in change and in digitalization and we invest in the solutions that can optimize the power grids in our care, to the benefit of the customers we serve and of the electricity system.

Modernization programmes

We modernize the electricity distribution grids through investments in new substations, their incorporation in the remote monitoring system, investments in substations and supply stations, in high, medium and low voltage lines, but also through the mounting of the smart meters for our customers, integrated in a smart metering system.

Smart meter

Some of our customers already enjoy the benefits of the smart meters. According to the schedule approved by ANRE, we will be able to install hundreds of thousands of smart meters by 2028. The new technology opens the path towards a better management of the electricity consumption and the integration with IoT apps, supports the prosumers’ activity and it is a key element for the digitalization of the grid.
